Cost-Effectiveness of Potential Covid-19 Therapeutics

Prof Anirban Basu

We are very pleased to welcome Prof Anirban Basu to present our December 2021 ISPOR NZ webinar.

Prof Basu is a Professor of Health Economics and the Stergachis Family Endowed Director of The CHOICE Institute at the University of Washington, Seattle, a Research Associate at the US National Bureau of Economic Research, and an elected Fellow at the American Statistical Association. His research focuses on understanding the economic value of health care using applied economic theory, comparative and cost-effectiveness analyses, causal inference methods, program evaluation, and outcomes research. He served on the 2nd Panel on Cost-effectiveness Analysis in Health and Medicine and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Value in Health.

In this webinar, Prof Basu will discuss a study recently published in Value in Health estimating the full QALY losses of a Covid-19 infection, and work adapting that model to evaluate cost-effectiveness of potential Covid-19 therapeutics from a societal perspective.

The webinar will be held at 11am - 12 noon on Friday 10 December.

The webinar is free for ISPOR (NZ) members and $25 for non-members.
