ISPOR NZ webinar - 21 October 2021
Distributional Cost-Effectiveness Analysis
Prof Richard Cookson
We are very pleased to welcome Prof Richard Cookson to present our October 2021 ISPOR NZ webinar.

Prof Cookson is a world-leading expert on the analysis of equity issues in health and health care. He edited the Oxford University Press Handbook of Distributional Cost-Effectiveness Analysis and co-founded Special Interest Groups on equity issues for the global ISPOR organisation and the International Health Economics Association. His research work includes developing local health equity indicators for the UK NHS, equity-informative health economic evaluation, and methods for gauging public concern for reducing health inequality.

In this webinar, Prof Cookson will discuss DCEA methods, illustrated with examples relevant to the NZ healthcare system to demonstrate key concepts. DCEA is a form of cost-effectiveness analysis that provides information about equity in the distribution of costs and effects of a healthcare intervention, as well as aggregate value for money. These methods can provide important information on the equity impacts of healthcare decisions of interest to health policy makers, providers, and funders. For more information on DCEA, see: https://www.york.ac.uk/che/research/equity/distributional-cost-effectiveness-analysis.

The webinar will be held at 9 - 10 a.m. on Thursday 21 October.

The webinar is free for ISPOR (NZ) members and $25 for non-members.
