We are very pleased to announce that our next ISPOR NZ webinar will be on Distributional Cost-Effectiveness Analysis (DCEA), presented by Professor Richard Cookson of the University of York.
The webinar will be held on Thursday 21 October at 9 a.m.
DCEA is a form of cost-effectiveness analysis that provides information about equity in the distribution of costs and effects of a healthcare intervention, as well as aggregate value for money. These methods can provide important information on the equity impacts of healthcare decisions of interest to health policy makers, providers, and funders. For more information on DCEA, see: https://www.york.ac.uk/che/research/equity/distributional-cost-effectiveness-analysis/. In this webinar, Prof Cookson will discuss DCEA methods, illustrated with examples relevant to the NZ healthcare system to demonstrate key concepts.
Prof Cookson is a world-leading expert on the analysis of equity issues in health and health care. He edited the Oxford University Press Handbook of Distributional Cost-Effectiveness Analysis and co-founded Special Interest Groups on equity issues for the global ISPOR organisation and the International Health Economics Association. His research work includes developing local health equity indicators for the UK NHS, equity-informative health economic evaluation, and methods for gauging public concern for reducing health inequality.
